GOA GOVERNMENT ON MISSION TO UPLIFT DIVYANGJAN

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant  listed out a number of initiatives taken by his government to improve the life of Divyangjan, while also continuing to put in the measures to strengthen and uplift the Divyangjan in Goa.

In collaboration with the business stakeholders, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has provided the pathway to contribute  significantly in providing mobility devices, accessible vehicles, EVs, communication aids to Persons with Disabilities in Goa.

The government has also ensured that the medical facilities like the Spinal Rehabilitation Centre; PradhanMantri Divyansha Kendra where various free of cost assistive devices are distributed to empower the PwDs in the state.

Sports events have been held regularly in the form of two editions of Purple Fest where PwDs from all over the country took part in multiple sports disciplines. A state championship for para-sportspersons was also organised this year, after a gap of over a decade.

“My Govt is committed to strengthening and uplifting the Divyangjan. It is working on strengthening special schools, initiatives with CSR authority extending benefits, equipment, and organising programs like the International Purple Fest to bring human resources, and technology together for their all-round development,” emphasises Dr Pramod Sawant.
