Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has revealed that ‘energy efficient technologies’ will be the way ahead for the Industries in Goa and talks are in progress to launch pilot projects for Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia.
Addressing the gathering, after inaugurating a Workshop on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solution for the Industries of Goa in Panaji, Dr Sawant stated that the state government is in the process of adopting several renewable energy interventions for Industries in particular. These includes the energy benchmarking for industrial zone, R&D and piloting the support to develop innovative energy-efficient technologies.
“We are also developing Green Hydrogen policy and Net Zero Emission policy for the industries which will soon be adopted. The Goa government has initiated a discussion with Paradeep Phosphates Limited for pilot Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia projects. We are also in discussion with BITS and NIT Goa to set up Green Hydrogen research facility in the state,” said Dr Sawant.
Environment Minister, Nilesh Cabral, Director (GA&TP),Ministry of MSME, Vinamra Mishra, Chairman, GSPCB, Mahesh Patil, Country Representative & Head, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, Dr. Rene Van Berkel and others were present for the Workshop.
