Goa Medical College has been awarded the ‘Eat Right Campus Certification’ from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The ‘Eat Right Campus’ initiative led by FSSAI aims to promote safe, healthy and sustainable food in campuses such as schools, universities, colleges, workplaces, hospitals, tea estates etc. across the country.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane expressed his delight in a post on his social media. ” It truly is a recognition of our efforts to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food in the GMC campus. My immense gratitude goes out to FDA for this initiative. The award of Eat Right Campus certification will give a huge boost to the efforts directed at improving food and eating practices including inclusion of millets in food choices. Improving the health of the people is our top priority. Towards this end, we will put in every effort to promote the healthy food and best eating practices across the state,” stated the Health Minister.
The objective of ‘Eat Right Campus Certification’ is to improve the health of people and the planet and promote social and economic development of the nation.
