“Doctors form the strongest pillar of the social structure across the world. More so, in India, where the doctor apart from being a healer, is also a confidante and advisor. This July 1st, is the most important of the decade, due to the immense sacrifice that doctors have made, selflessly, during the COVID pandemic. Many doctors died unheralded and many more contracted COVID in the line of duty. Congratulations to this fraternity whose services go unsung. May these heroes go from strength to greater strength,” says Dr. Deepak Murty, ENT Consultant Surgeon, Manipal Hospitals Goa.
“As doctors, we have always played an important role in helping patients with various conditions and improve their quality of life. This day is very special as it appreciates and recognises the importance of the doctors’ role in the society. While the entire world stayed at home to curb the spread of COVID; armed with masks, gloves and protective gears, we along with the entire medical fraternity, were working tirelessly, round the clock to ensure constant treatment for all the people in need. Being a doctor myself, I feel that our duties are much greater than just providing treatment to the patients. We put all our efforts into empowering people and making them live their lives to the fullest despite the aliment they are suffering from. On this special occasion, I would like to express my gratitude towards all my fellow and other doctors for dedicating their lives towards healing and inspiring millions of people,” states Dr. Santosh Koppal, Deputy Medical Superintendent and Laparoscopic & Gastrointestinal Specialist at SMRC’s V.M. Salgaocar Hospital, Goa.
