‘GOA WATER STORIES’ TO SHOWCASE WATER HERITAGE & LOOK FOR SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

0

The just-launched Goa Water Stories digital platform puts a spotlight on the visual documentation of 18 powerful stories and projects. The initiative will also facilitate a discourse on Goa’s rich and diverse water heritage towards finding sustainable and just solutions to manage collective water resources for future generations.

The curation and making of Goa Water Stories brings together these diverse stakeholders, institutions, students, researchers, academics, writers, artists and experts towards facilitating interactions towards critical thinking on water. Through collaborative processes of doing, that included workshops, colloquiums and presentations at libraries, colleges, universities, museums and galleries a cohort of participants developed an articulation and thereby initiated a hyperlocal and public dialogue on various aspects of the state’s water heritage through a multi-dimensional and inclusive lens drawing on research, data visualisation, storytelling and digital tools. The art and media objects produced by the cohort are multidimensional across diverse media and mediums – illustrations, photographs, texts, videos audio recordings, maps etc.

Goa University, Goa Institute of Management and Sunaparanta are collaborators in the ‘Goa Water Stories’ – a transformative community project on water, ecology and climate change.
