PANAJI: Goan boxing coach Santosh Birmole is charged up as part of the national coaching team for the India elite boxing camp being held under the guidance of High Performance Director, Santiago Nieva at JSW Academy, Bellary, Karnataka.
Birmole, who is an AIBA 2-Star certified coach, will be dealing with the cream of Indian men’s boxing at the high profile preparatory camp in view of World Championships-Paris (June 2021) and Tokyo Olympics to be held in July 2021.
Speaking to livenewsgoa.com, Santosh expressed excitement at the chance of working under HPD Nieva’s tutelage and is keen to improve on his coaching acumen to make himself a big asset to the elite Indian contingent. He also exuded confidence that Indian boxers will be among medals at the world championship and Olympics.
