PANAJI: Goan swimmer Sanjana Prabhugaonker has been selected to represent India junior swimming squad at a high performance camp in South Africa. The camp will involve joint-training exposure with swimmers in South Africa and will be participating at South African National Aquatic Championship in April, says a press release.
Swimming Federation of India in association with South Africa Swimming with the support from Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India), has initiated this training programme from 17th March to 17th April 2022 in Johannesburg.
The training camp is scheduled for a month under the guidance of top level South African coaches and accompanying Indian coaches in Johannesburg.
At the end of the training programme, the Indian junior swimming squad will be participating in open national swimming championship at Port Elizabeth in April.
Sanjana is currently undergoing professional training at Aqua Nation Sports Academy (ANSA) at Swiss international Scientific school in Dubai under the guidance of coach Pradeep Kumar.
The 16-member Indian Junior Squad departed for South Africa from Mumbai on 17th March. Six boys and 8 girls in the age group of 15-17 years, are part of the squad also comprising Indian coaches Majumder Partha Pratim and Arithial Candoth Jayarajan.
