GOAN UNDERPRIVILEGED STUDENTS GET FUTURE-READY; GAIN HANDS-ON UX & UI EXPOSURE AT KILOWOTT’S CAMPUS

Underprivileged Goan students keen on learning technology gained a practical introduction to user-centred design, interactive interfaces and real-world digital project workflows thanks to a campus outreach initiative by Goa-based digital transformation firm Kilowott, which hosted learners from the Ponda-based Tata STRIVE at the tech firm’s Porvorim campus.

Tata STRIVE provides youth from underprivileged communities with access to quality skill training with an aim to enable livelihood linkages directed towards employment, entrepreneurship or enhanced employability. During the visit, ten students from the upskilling centre’s Ponda centre participated in an interactive UX and UI session led by Kilowott’s senior designer Ashley Custodio Mendonsa. The session introduced the students to the basics of digital product design, how teams collaborate and how ideas move from concept to execution.

The students also observed workplace processes that shape modern design practice, giving them a clearer sense of expectations in technology-driven roles. The students’ educational visit helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry demands by exposing learners to practical problem-solving and collaborative workflows.

According to Kilowott, initiatives like these form part of its wider effort to support future talent in Goa by offering young learners early exposure to professional environments and emerging career pathways in design and technology.
