At the recently-held Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, the Minister of Industries, Mauvin Godinho led a distinguished team to deliberate upon Goa’s economic trajectory. The session, titled ‘GOA: Growth, Opportunities, and Aspirations,’ provided a platform to present and discuss the state’s robust economic roadmap.
Accompanied by Swetika Sachan, IAS, CEO of Goa-IPB; Egna Cleetus, IAS, Director of Industries; Tushar Joshi, Jt. Secretary to Chief Minister of Goa; Manguirish Pai Raikar, Chairman, ASSOCHAM, Goa State Council, and Patik Patvari, Ex-President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce; Godinho navigated through the intricacies of Goa’s economic future plan.
The session was marked by insightful discussions on the initiatives taken by the Goa Government to foster economic growth and attract investments. The Minister and his team engaged in one-on-one meetings during the summit, aiming to establish connections and explore potential investments from diverse business delegations spanning manufacturing to agriculture.
The team highlighted various measures implemented by Government of Goa to enhance the ease of doing business, including the development of digital public goods for industry governance, the notification of new Goa-IDC regulations in 2023, decriminalisation of laws pertaining to industry governance and the notification of logistics and housing policy in 2023. Additionally, significant infrastructure augmentation, such as the opening of the Zuari Bridge and the new Mopa airport, was discussed.
The success of these interactions at Vibrant Gujarat 2024 paves the way for the highly-anticipated ‘Invest Goa Summit 2024’, scheduled for January 29, 2024. The summit promises to be a key platform for in-depth discussions, collaborations, and investment opportunities, positioning Goa as a thriving hub of economic development.
