Dussehra or Vijayadashami is celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour in Goa with the sense of devotion and gratitude being the flavour of the celebrations. The roots symbolise a beginning of a positive story and inkeeping with the sentiment, GDX-1 began the journey for Goa’s state transport facility – Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited in 1980. The Dussehra day witnesses a festivity around the bus every year.

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant attended and performed a puja of Goa’s first Kadamba GDX-1 on the occasion of Dussehra on Saturday, which happens to be the 44th Anniversary of KTCL, at Panaji.

Dr Sawant paid a glowing tribute to the tireless service of the corporation, stating: “KTCL has been faithfully serving the people of Goa and beyond, continually enhancing its services by embracing new technologies and innovations. I commend the team for their hard work and commitment to providing efficient and reliable transportation for all.”

KTCL Chairman, Ulhas Tuenkar, Director Transport, Rajan Satardekar & officials of KTCL were also present. The Chief Minister felicitated KTCL conductors, mechanical staff, and drivers by recognising their valuable contributions to public service.
