‘Ashirvad’ helpline for the Senior Citizens under the ‘Parenting Our Parents’ collaborative, was launched by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on the National Senior Citizens Day, at Mapusa on Monday. Goa Police and 24×7 Care Foundation have come up with the initiative and the CM belted out his famous phrase ‘Bhivpachi garaj na’ to the senior citizens, assuring them of the looking-after via this Helpline No.1097, despite their near ones not being in the state.
“While maintaining the Law and Order in the State, Goa Police also look after the wellbeing of senior citizens who are living alone. Various programmes are also organised regularly for the welfare of the senior citizens,” said Dr Sawant while commending the role of Goa Police in welfare of senior citizens.
