Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a goshala, ‘Cow Shed’ for Ponda Municipal Council under the Goa Stray Cattle Management Scheme in Nirankal village, Ponda.
Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, Minister for WRD, Subhash Shirodkar, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Nilkanth Halarnkar, Chairperson of Ponda Municipal Council, Ritesh Naik, former Rajya Sabha MP, Vinay Tendulkar; Director, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Dr. Nitin S. Naik were also present.
Under the Goa Stray Cattle Management Scheme, the government aims to curb the stray cattle menace as well as provide them a place where they will be looked after in a humane and caring manner.
