Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the All-Goa Heritage Photography State-Level Exhibition 2023 organised by the Department of Archaeology, Government of Goa; in Panaji on Thursday.
Archaeology Minister, Subhash Phal Dessai; Secretary (Archaeology), Menino D’souza, IAS; and Director, Archaeology, Nilesh Faldessai were also present.
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of preservation of heritage monuments and relics in view of the government’s endeavour to boost spiritual tourism in the state. Dr Sawant urged the youngsters to realise the significance of heritage conservation, while also praising the participants for taking part in the photography initiative.
“Your eye for a picture matters a lot as it is the heritage that is being projected. We need to look after it and thus we will be able to attract tourists,” stated Dr Sawant.
