PANAJI: Central GST Department emerged winners at the ‘Friendship Cup’ cricket tournament organised by Goa branch of WIRC of ICAI on 5th and 6th March 2022 at Quitla Panchayat Ground, Aldona.
The tournament was played between teams of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Income Tax Department, State Goods & Service Tax Department and Central Goods and Service Tax Department. The main objective of the tournament was to create bonding between Chartered Accountants, Income Tax Department and GST department, states a press release.
The tournament was played on league basis and top two teams of each group reached the final. The final was played between teams of Central GST department and State GST department. Central GST department won the final.
The tournament was played in competitive spirit, and was well-attended by Chartered Accountants, staff of Income Tax Department and GST department. Joint Commissioner Income Tax, Saurabh Nayak, Joint Commisisoner Income Tax, Banjul Burthakur, Deputy Commissioner SGST, Vivek Naik and Sachin Pilgaonkar were some of the officials, who were present and took part in this unique event.
ICAI Goa Branch Chairman, CA Gaurav Kenkre, thanked everyone for participating in the tournament and for making this tournament great success.
