IM Nitish Belurkar remained undefeated to score 9 points in 9 rounds and won the All-Goa Liberation Cup Rapid Open Chess Tournament organised by Queens Chess and Cultural Club at Dr. K. B. Hedgewar School, Cujira.
Chaitanya Gaonkar and Joshua Telles scored 8 points each to finish second and third, respectively. Alex Sequeira secured the 4th place with 7.5 points. Devesh Naik, Vihaan Tari, Sudhakar Patgar, ACM Rhys Dominic Carvalho, Jennica Sequeira Harsh dagare, Lyia Marysil Silveira, Ayush Naik and Aarth Karapurkar scored 7 points each to be placed in 5th to 13th position respectively.
Kishor Bandekar, former secretary of Goa Chess Association was the chief guest and complimented Queens Club members for conducting the tournament every year.
Vidya Bandekar, Sarvanand Shirodkar, Sandesh Prabhu Chodnekar and Chief Arbiter, Tanisq Kavalekar were also present. Dr. Roopa Belurkar, President of Queens Club, outlined the club activities on the occasion. Tanvi Hadkonkar proposed the vote of thanks while Vice-President of Queens Club, Dr. Pradnya Kakodkar compered the function.
