A super-speciality medical camp was organised by IMA Bicholim at the Panchayat Ghar of Narve Panchayat on Saturday. The camp was held in association with CHC Bicholim and PHC Mayem, Narve Panchayat and in the presence of local MLA, Premendra Shet.
The camp was inaugurated today in the presence of Health Officer of Community Health Centre Bicholim, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Past-President of IMA Goa State, Sandesh Parsekar, Sarpanch, Tukaram Gaude, Panch, Daya Karbotkar.
Premendra Shet appealed to people to take the benefit of such camps when consultant doctors come with newer technology.
Dr Shekhar Salkar in his address, informed that early diagnosis help in saving life, saving organ as well as save money. He added that all operations, radiation and some chemotherapy are done free in private hospitals under DDSSY scheme of Goa Government.
Other doctors present for the camp were Dr Medha Salkar, Dr Gaurish Palav, Pulmonologist; Dr Kashish Patnekar, Gynaecologist; Dr Anoush Sardesai , Dr Uma Desai, Community Health Officer of PHC Mayem.
According to the press note by IMA Bicholim president, Dr Medha Salkar – the total registration came up to 74; ECG – 41, PAP Smear – 18, Thermalytix AI Breast Cancer Screening – 35, Cataract cases – 9, Glaucoma suspect – 2, Refrective errors- 22.
