Imagine Panaji smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has entered into discussions with the residents of St. Inez regarding the relocation of several wayside crosses. This strategic move aims to ensure clear pathways for the ongoing road works undertaken by IPSCDL in the area.
A senior official from IPSCDL stated: “We have identified approximately 4-5 wayside crosses that proposes relocation in close proximity to their existing locations. This adjustment will allow us to efficiently complete our road work while maintaining the necessary carriage width along the roads of St. Inez. The identified crosses are situated within a half-kilometer radius stretching from the Vivanta junction to Kamat Plaza.”
Additionally, the project will entail improved right of way, enhanced pedestrian access, and a more aesthetic roadside environment. In some instances, the crosses may be reconstructed. In case of heritage crosses, they may need to be relocated.
Furthermore, IPSCDL emphasises that this initiative has garnered positive responses from the residents of St. Inez.
IPSCDL remains committed to working closely with the local community to ensure that the relocation process is conducted smoothly.
IPSCDL reaffirms its dedication to enhancing infrastructure while respecting the cultural and religious significance of the community. IPSCDL looks forward to continued collaboration with the people of St. Inez for the successful completion of this project, states a press release.
