Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) is set to celebrate multiple significant festivities on June 21, 2024, by showcasing its remarkable infrastructure initiatives under the Smart City Mission in the capital city of Panaji . This day marks International Yoga Day, Vat Purnima, and World Music Day, with a series of events planned to highlight the city’s development and community engagement, states a press release.
International Yoga Day Celebration
To commence the festivities, IPSCDL will host an International Yoga Day session at Yog Sethu which is an infrastructure initiative under the Smart City Mission which completes a year since its inauguration on 21st June 2023 . The Yog Sethu on D. B. Marg serves as the entrance to the River Mandovi Promenade set against the scenic backdrop of the river . This session is designed to promote the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day – Yoga for Self and Society. The hour – long yoga session will be open to the general public from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, inviting participants of all ages. A Yoga instructor will lead the session, ensuring a rejuvenating experience for all attendees.
Unveiling of the Translocated Banyan Tree on Vat Purnima
On the occasion of Vat Purnima, IPSCDL will unveil the translocated Banyan tree at Campal Parade Ground, a significant ecological and cultural addition to the area. The Banyan tree, which holds immense traditional value, has been carefully translocated to preserve its heritage. The Campal Parade Ground itself is currently being developed into a state-of-the-art sports ground and green community space, enhancing recreational and environmental amenities in Panaji. The unveiling will take place at 11:00 AM, symbolising growth, renewal and community spirit.
World Music Day Celebrations at Gyan Sethu
Concluding the day’s festivities, IPSCDL invites music lovers to celebrate World Music Day at Gyan Sethu, an initative under the Smart City Mission , located over the Ourem Creek, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. This event aims to bring together musicians, singers and music enthusiasts from all walks of life to showcase their talents in a scenic and inspiring setting. Performers are encouraged to participate and share their love for music with the community, fostering a sense of unity and cultural richness.
