PANAJI: Drishti lifeguard Akash Agarwadekar is hoping to fulfil his dream of taking part in Half Ironman Goa 2022, riding on his steely resolve and a fundraiser to help him prepare to the best of his ability. He was close to getting his wish last time out when the international triathlon event debuted in the state in 2019. However, he met with an accident few days before the coveted event.
Akash, who works his duty on Calangute beach, went through a bout of depression and was supported with counseling. Slowly he began to get back to his regular routine. This November, after 3 years the race is back in Goa and he is sleepless with excitement to participate.
