Goa-based digital transformation firm Kilowott successfully conducted a series of campus roadshows across leading colleges in Goa recently. The initiative aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the recruitment process, campus placements and emerging career opportunities in the IT and technology sectors.
Designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the sessions offered students a hands-on understanding of practical learning and career preparedness through interactive sessions, logical reasoning tests and psychometric assessments.
As part of its continued efforts to strengthen academic collaboration, Kilowott signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with St. Xavier’s College and the Goa College of Art. These partnerships mark an important step towards fostering structured engagement through workshops, training programs and future placement opportunities for students. The roadshows covered several leading engineering and multidisciplinary colleges in Goa, including St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, which saw participation from 80 students across the BBA, BCA and Mass Communication departments, led by faculty members Vanessa Zita Furtado and Ruella D’Souza.
At Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, 103 students from Computer, IT, and ETC departments participated under the guidance of Dr. Norman Dias, while the Goa University saw participation from 57 students from MCA and MSc Data Science departments, coordinated by Teja Kundaikar.
Similarly, S.R.I.E.I.T College, Shiroda, engaged 100 students from Computer, IT and ETC departments under Prof. Manjusha Sanke, while PCCE, Verna, brought together 103 students under the guidance of Razia de Loyola Furtado e Sardinha. AITD, Assagao, had the highest participation with 149 students from ETC, IT, Computer and MBA programs coordinated by Shrinivas Joshi.
At the Goa College of Arts, 21 fine arts students took part, with Prof. Maria Ferreira facilitating the MoU signing. Kilowott also met with Dr. Cedric Silveira and Shantanu Arlekar from Don Bosco College, Panjim, as well as Prof. Sachin B. Kakodkar from Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Verna, to explore potential collaborations for future engagements.
Across the roadshows, students participated in logical reasoning and psychometric tests that exposed them to real-world recruitment practices, while interactive sessions encouraged open discussions on the IT and software industries, employability skills and future career opportunities. The initiative made a strong impact by helping students gain a clear understanding of campus placement processes, assessment techniques and industry expectations.
Faculty participation further enriched the exchange, creating a space for dialogue on aligning academic learning with practical industry needs. The Kilowott team emphasized that these roadshows are part of the company’s larger DRIVE initiative—Develop, Ready, Inspire, Validate and Empower—which focuses on preparing students for the evolving digital economy.
“The roadshow was an interesting and enlightening experience. The students were excited to learn about the various career options and the industry trends at the roadshow, which bridged the gap between academics and the industry. The students are now more open to acquiring skills required to enter the industry. They were also impressed by Kilowatt’s emphasis on mentorship, building leadership and design skills,” says Maria Ferreira, Applied Art, Department incharge at Goa College of Fine Arts.
