Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated Lokotsav-2025 a national level festival of Folk Arts, Handicrafts & Cuisines, organised by the Directorate of Art & Culture in joint-collaboration with West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur; at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy, Panaji on Friday.
BGP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal, Minister for Art & Culture, Govind Gaude, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Director, West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Furqan Khan, Director of Art and Culture, Sagun R. Velip were also present.
“I wholeheartedly welcome Folk artists and artisans from all over the country for the Lokotsav. I congratulate Goa, Directorate of Arts and Culture and West Zonal Council, for organizing the event by expanding its scope and vibrance. The Directorate of Art & Culture, Goa has been supporting Folk arts and culture in the state,” stated Dr Sawant.
Around 600 Folk artists will be presenting various folk dances and music of their states and also around 1000 artisans will be displaying their Handicraft items during the festival period.
This Folk festival will be open for general public till 26th January 2025.
