M.E.S COLLEGE BAG FOURTH CONSECUTIVE KABADDI TITLE, PES S.R.S.N. COLLEGE CLINCH WOMEN’S CROWN

M.E.S’s Vasant Joshi College Of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar, won fourth consecutive Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Men’s Championship. They beat Swami Vivekananda VM’s College of Commerce, Bori, 45-35.

Goa University had organised the Inter Collegiate Kabaddi Championship for Men 2023-24 on 12th and 13th December, 2023 at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Goa University.

In the semi-finals, M.E.S’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar defeated Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem, 73-23. Swami Vivekananda VM’s College of Commerce, Bori, defeated Shree Mallikarjun & Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona,  44-26.

The ‘Best player’ award was bagged by Lohit Naik of M.E.S’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar. In total, 25 men’s teams participated in the Championship.

Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony Prof. Nilesh Borde, Vice Dean ( Academics), Goa Business School, Goa University; alongwith Balachandra Jadar, Asst. Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.  

In the women’s event held on 14th December,  P.E.S’s  S.R.S.N. College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, defeated Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Parvari, 59-45.

 Earlier in the semi-finals,P.E. S’s S.R.S.N. College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi beat Shree Mallikarjun & Shri.Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona, 17-14.

Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Parvari defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim 49-28.

The Best player prize was awarded to Alisha Akarkar of P.E. S’s S.R.S.N. College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi. In total, 12 women’s teams participated in the Championship.

Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony Dr. Amavel Murty, Medical Officer, Goa University along with Balachandra Jadar, Asst. Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-ups.
