MEGA CA CONFERENCE 2023: ICAI GOA BRANCH HOSTS ANANTYA – ENDLESS SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE

The Goa Branch (WIRC) of ICAI hosted a two-day Mega CA Conference 2023 on the theme ‘Anantya – Endless Source of Knowledge in Goa’ organised by the GST & Indirect Taxes Committee, ICAI on 29th and 30th November 2023. 

The conference was inaugurated by the Industries and Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, who is also a member of the GST Council. Also, present was Central Council Member of ICAI and Programme Convenor CA Mangesh Kinare.

During the inaugural ceremony, Godinho said:The conference holds exceptional relevance especially in this today’s evolving GST tax structure of the country. In a nation like India with a such a huge population which a like a combination of smaller countries, the tax structure has to evolve in a better way where the stake holders will not feel harassed by the new system, inspector raj has to completely disappear and this conference will surely bring much needed clarity to all the stakeholders”.

He also said The largest tax reform in the Country of GST has succeeded due to guiding force of Chartered Accountants of this country and he lauded the efforts the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for continuing to be an integral and driving force behind the smooth functioning of this tax reform in the country.”

The theme of the conference Ānantya- “Endless source of knowledge” was designed and adopted with an aim to reskill and upgrade the professional knowledge on GST for all the stakeholders.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) Chairman CA Arpit Kabra said: “It is an endeavour of our Institute and the WIRC to regularly conduct such conferences to create awareness amongst all the members on the recent changes and amendments so as to enable the members to serve the trade specially the MSME, Startups and the Entrepreneurs in a very effective manner.”

He also said “WIRC has launched a very unique programme “Train (T), Earn (E) and Learn (L) and all the commerce students are invited to participate in the 36 hours course and to get a hands-on experience of working in a Chartered Accountants office on completion of the course.”

Manipal Infinity Card a health checkup and diagnostics scheme by Manipal Hospitals for all the Chartered Accountants of Goa was launched at the hands of the WIRC Chairman CA Arpit Kabra.

The two days event witnessed technical sessions and panel discussions on a diverse array of topics under GST with speakers from across the country deliberating on the same. The conference provided insight into the latest changes/amendments in GST, knowledgeable sessions and networking opportunities. More than 250 Chartered Accountants from across the nation attended the conference.
