Directorate of Agriculture will organise ‘Millet Festival’ on Saturday, 16th December at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao.
The festival aims to promote cultivation and healthy lifestyle through millet consumption. The festival is a part of an awareness drive related to the production and consumption of millets, highlighting their nutritional benefits and diverse applications in daily lives. The Millet Festival promises an engaging and informative day featuring a series of talks and demonstrations on various aspects of millet cultivation, nutritive value of millets in our daily diet, parameters and licensing requirements, preparation of Millet-based Value Added Products.
A highlight of the event is the eagerly awaited ‘Millet Recipe competition’ where participants can show their culinary skills and creativity with Millet-based dishes. In addition to the knowledge-sharing sessions, the attendees can indulge in the delectable world of Millet-based snacks and food items, all prepared by Self Help Groups and innovative Millet Startups.The festival will also feature entertaining and enlightening Millet-based skits and group songs that convey the important message ‘Grow millets, Eat millets Stay healthy’.
Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the festival in the presence of Agriculture minister Ravi Naik.
