Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Government of India, visited the Regional Headquarters of the Postal Department, Goa Region, located at Tapal Bhavan, Patto, Panaji today.
During his visit, the Minister interacted with the staff working at the regional office and Tapal Bhavan Post Office. He listened to their concerns and provided guidance on addressing operational challenges. As part of the visit, Dr. Pemmasani also took part in a tree plantation drive, promoting environmental sustainability.
The Minister conducted a detailed review of postal operations in Goa State and the Goa Region. Ramesh Patil, Director of Postal Services, briefed the Minister on new initiatives and ongoing departmental projects. The minister appreciated the efforts and encouraged the staff to remain actively involved in business development activities. He emphasised the importance of employee participation in driving departmental innovation and growth.
Highlighting the need for increased revenue generation amidst a rapidly evolving communication landscape, the Minister lauded the proactive initiatives by the Goa Region. He called on staff members to continue innovating and contributing to the department’s revenue growth through dynamic and customer-focused services.
Present during the meeting were senior officials including Anurag Nikhare, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa; Sudhir Jakhere, APMG, Maharashtra Circle; Sanjay Desai, Assistant Director; and S.W. Walvekar, Assistant Director, Goa Region.
