Curator of Central Library, Dr. Sushant Tandel inaugurated National Book Week at Institute Menezes Braganza on Monday. Chairman of Institute Menezes Braganza, Dashrath Parab; Member Secretary of IMB, Ashok Parab; renowned artist Sanjay Harmalkar, were also present. The exhibition will continue till 24th November 2024.
The main aim of the programme is to give a boost to the local publishers and book sellers to exhibit their varieties of books. Encouraging people to read and sending out a strong message about the importance of books, National Book Week assumes significance in its bid to preserve the reading culture, which is appearing to have been taking a beating due to technology-oriented means these days.
