Goa State Council for Science & Technology in association with Department of Science & Technology & Waste Management, Government of Goa; organised the National Space Day celebration at Goa Science Centre-Miramar with the theme ‘Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga’ on Friday.
Various state-level competitions like Poster and Space Quiz, were held were top contestants from North Goa and South Goa participated. Competitions were organised for the high school students. A water booster rocket launching demo was held for HSS students, while powerpoint presentation competition was conducted for Basic Sciences and Engineering students.
A lecture on ‘Developments in Cutting-Edge Technologies in Space Science’ was delivered by eminent scientist (retired) from ISRO Bengaluru, Dr. Uday Raj.
The valedictory function was graced by Director, DST & WM, Ankit Yadav, IAS, & Member Secretary GSCST, Brenda Fernandes.
