VM Salgaocar College of Law Miramar, organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 4th and 5th November 2022, for its faculty. The resource person for the programme was Dr. Rajendra Kumar V Joshi, Senior Consultant at the Centre for Educational and Social Studies, Bangalore.
The FDP was attended by 30 participants including invitees from other colleges. The topic for the FDP was “Re-Imagining Teaching with New Techniques and Innovations”.
On the first day, the resource person discussed the adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) and what could be the possible consequences and impact on the educational system.
The FDP was a practical session in which there was active participation by all the faculty members by way of discussion, question and answers, group presentations and other activities planned by the resource person.
On the second day, the resource person very beautifully explained the topics of learning and teaching, how to deal with students in the present era and how teachers need to adapt to the changing times.
The resource person explained the areas of pedagogy, andragogy, growth mindset, about graduate attributes in an effortless and lucid manner and made the participants understand and think about the role of a person as a teacher and understand students’ expectations of a teacher.
In short, it was a thought-provoking, informative and motivating session successfully conducted by the resource person which was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by the participants of the FDP. The co-ordinator of the FDP was Dr. KS Rao, assisted by Asst.-Prof. Amal Kazi and Asst.-Prof. Ruchira Naik.
