NEW ENERGY SHOULD BE THE WAY FORWARD TO MEET RISING POWER DEMAND: SUDIN DHAVALIKAR

Power Minister, Sudin Dhavalikar highlighted the rising demand for power in Goa and hoped that the New and Renewable Energy will be the way to go in the next decade or so, while he also congratulated schools and commercial organisations for doing their bit as Electricity Department Goa celebrated Energy Conservation Week 2024.

“If we try to meet rising power demand which is 10 to 15 per cent every year, by Thermal means; then it will lead to more pollution. Hence, I feel Green energy is the way forward!” stated Dhavalikar.

Dhavalikar also emphasised the Electricity Department’s outreach through the Energy clubs across 800 schools in Goa. He urged the organisations to take steps towards conservation of energy.

At the National Energy Conservation Week 2024 function organised by the State Designated Agency at Kala Academy today, various awards and prizes were presented.

Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes; Project Coordinator Goa Science Centre Sampada Naik; staff of Electricity Department attended the function.
