Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant cautioned people to observe traffic rules and if they violate them, then promptly pay the fines.
The Chief Minister revealed that a trend has been noticed that sees violators calling up the politicans to save them from penalty by the Traffic Police.
“If such people call me, I will tell them to pay the fine. Then come to me with the receipt and I will give them that cost. I am saying this because the culprits need to feel the pinch of monetary fine,” said Dr Sawant in his address after inaugurating the 13th State Road Safety Week-2024 on the theme -“Be a Road Safety Hero” at a function organised by Directorate of Transport at Panaji, in the presence of Transport Minister, Mauvin Godinho, Director Transport, P. Pravimal Abhishek, IAS & others. Road Safety Week will be observed till 20th October, 2024.
