Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has announced that Forest Rights Claims under the FRA 2006 will be closed by 19th December 2025.
After chairing a meeting regarding Forest Rights Claims under the FRA 2006 at Mantralaya, the Chief Minister revealed that distribution of Sanads will begin on 9th June at the Sankalp Se Siddhi programme; and the target is to close 10,000 cases by 19th December.
Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Collectors North & South Goa, Director Tribal Welfare, Officials of Forest Department, DCF DSLR Officials, Nodal Officers were present for the meeting.
Among the key points discussed, were – status of claims in North & South Goa & Directed BDOs to expedite FRC claim file preparations; camps on 14th June at Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem, Ponda & Sattari to resolve pending Gram Sabha cases; Special Gram Sabha on 21st June dedicated to FRC & SDLC meetings on 19th June to address pendency; distribution of Sanads to begin on 9th June at the Sankalp Se Siddhi program, where 2,309 Sanads ready; target to close 10,000 cases by 19th December.
“We are committed to resolve the Forest Rights Claims with coordinated efforts,” emphasised Dr Sawant.
