Ponda, Sanguem and Dharbandora won laurels at the 1st edition of Goa State Netball Championship held at Ponda Sports Complex Indoor.
In the men’s final, Sanguem beat Pernem 47-42. Aakash Gaikwad was awarded the best shooter prize. Shrikant Jadhav was named the best defender while Pranav Pomane emerged the best player.
Ponda won the women’s final with a 24-17 scoreline against Tiswadi. Tiya Tari was awarded the best shooter, Sanika Wagh was best defender while Snehita Bandekar was awarded the best player prize.
In the Fast5 men’s final, Ponda got the better of Dharbandora 26-20. Sanmay Bandekar was awarded the best shooter, Tushar Popale was named the best defender and Yash Naik was awarded the best player.
In the Fast5 women’s final, Dharbandora edged past Tiswadi 28-27. Sharayu Jagtap was awarded the best shooter, Sejal Netalkar was the best defender and Neetal Haldankar was adjudged the best player.
Siddhesh Naik, President, North Goa Zilla Panchayat, was the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of other dignitaries.
