Goa Guardians fought hard but fell short against the Mumbai Meteors, losing 8–15, 8–15, 14–16 in the RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League powered by Scapia semi-final at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Friday.

Despite the result, Goa’s maiden PVL campaign ended on a high note – a season defined by unity, resilience, and breakthrough performances that established the Guardians as one of the league’s most exciting teams.

The Guardians began the match with intent, as Nathaniel Dickinson’s sharp spikes and Rohit Yadav’s booming serves put Mumbai under early pressure.
However, Mumbai’s consistency through Shubham Chaudhary and Amit Gulia allowed them to take control. Goa’s highlight moment came through Dickinson’s clutch super point, but the Meteors’ defensive discipline helped them edge ahead in the first set.

In the second set, Prince led from the middle, trying to wrestle momentum back for Goa. LM Manoj’s thunderous super serve injected energy into the squad and the fans, while setter Aravind’s introduction gave Goa fresh rhythm in attack.

Yet, a few narrow misses – including a super point lost on an overhit shot – tilted the set in Mumbai’s favour, putting Goa two down.

Refusing to back down, the Guardians came out firing in the third set.
Vikram’s crucial super point gave Goa a late surge, while Prince and Chirag Yadav worked tirelessly at the net. The set went down to the wire before Karthik’s final block on Chirag sealed the result for Mumbai, who advanced to the final.

From memorable wins to passionate performances, the Goa Guardians made their mark in PVL 2025 – playing with heart, representing Goa’s spirit, and capturing the imagination of fans across India.
