Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai distributed financial assistance of Rs 36 lakh to 144 cancer patients, from the Governor’s discretionary fund; at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula on Thursday. Secretary to Governor, M. R. M. Rao, IAS, & Additional Secretary to the Governor, Sanjeev Gauns Desai were also present.
Pillai, who has been the Governor of Goa for over two years, has travelled across the state in that period. He has been considerate about the problems faced by various people and has been providing support from time to time.
The Governor has helped people suffering from cancer with financial assistance in the past as well. People with kidney ailment, have also found help from Pillai.
That apart, the Governor has been creating avenues for writers, artists and also boosting the cause of Environment conservation with various initiatives across the state as well as in the Raj Bhavan premises.
