The Raga-Rasa concept, often heard but seldom deeply understood, bridges the scientific and cultural aspects of Indian classical music. It aims to revive and raise awareness about our rich Indian classical music heritage, making complex traditions accessible and comprehensible to both younger and older audiences.
This approach encourages learning about traditional classical music while fostering discussions on its cultural relevance today. The core of the concept is an interactive performance leading to further conversations.

Artist Background
Varun Nimbolkar is a Pune based Sitar player trained in Indian classical format for the past 15 years. He is trained directly under international sitar maestro Ustad Usman Khan of Dharwad Gharana lineage. Varun has received training for vocals in Indian Classical format for a brief period of 3 years. His style of Sitar playing is deeply influenced by a blend of both Gayaki and Tant Ang, the two pre-dominant styles of playing Sitar.
Apart from classical music, Varun is a songwriter-composer whose music is available across all digital platforms. He performs a set of his originals with his band which is a blend of genres like Blues rock, soft rock, drum n bass, folk rock with Indian melodies. His fusion is unique and has story based compositions, rather than improvised classical sitar fusion. Along with acoustic, his experiments with Electric sitar are very well received among the audiences.
Varun has been accepted at Berklee college of Music NYC for Masters in song-writing and composition and plans to attend the same in the coming fall.
