Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant distributed Smart device tablets to students under the Infosys Springboard Ltd. initiatives at Porvorim.
Head & Chief Lead for Government Partnerships, Infosys Ltd., Santhosh Ananthapura; Secretary (Education), Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Director Education, Shailesh Zingde, State Project Director, Goa Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Shambhu Ghadi were also present.
In his address, the Chief Minister revealed that Infosys is providing 1500 smart devices tablets to 50 rural schools across Goa. The tabs are equipped with tools to access thousands of courses on the Infosys Springboard platform. Accordingly, the students of Std 6th to 10th will get one hour per week of learning on the Smart device , which will provide high quality content including subjects like Digital Technology, Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering and Life Skills.
“What makes the initiative even more impactful is that the content on the platform is in English and regional language, so that no student is left behind. This is a pivotal moment for Goa’s education sector. The future of learning is here and we are ensuring that most remote areas of the State are becoming a part of our development journey. By providing the tab and access to world class content, we are equipping our rural students with the tools to dream bigger and achieve more,” asserted Dr Sawant.
