Sports Minister Govind Gaude presented cash awards to outstanding Goan athletes for their achievements in winning medals at the 37th National Games; as well as at international and national events including Para Championship.
The total prize-money to be disbursed across 287 sportspersons amounted to Rs 2,26,09000. Out of them, 147 were medal-winners of National Games; while other National, International and Para-Sports athletes totalled to 140.
The award distribution programme was organised by Sports Authority of Goa at Kala Academy, Panaji. Secretary (Sports), Swetika Sachan, IAS, Director of Sports & YouthAffairs, Arvind Khutkar, Executive Director of SAG, Dr. Geeta Nagvenkar, Director (Admin), Sports Authority of Goa, Kedar Naik were also present.
