The department of Physical Education and Sports of St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim, organised various intramural sports competitions for the students of the college during the academic year 2022-23.
The objectives of organising the intramural competitions were to promote mass participation, provide fun, enjoyment and recreation to students and to help identify the talent among the students. The competitions were held for both men and women.
Chess, table tennis, badminton, futsal, tie-breaker, cricket and carrom. It was encouraging to see that 100% boys and 72% girls from the college participated in the intramural competitions.
Shivam Saroj won the Chess competition, Rishikesh Fadte and Shreya Mulik excelled in men and women badminton respectively, Sharif Ansari and Enid Dias triumphed in table tennis, Britto Pereira and Neha Panday were victorious in men and women carrom. In Futsal, it was team Pythagoras that were dominant and won all their matches. In the tie-breaker competition too, team Pythagoras showed their dominance and won the competition. In cricket, men and women team Fission and team Hyperlink secured first position.
