MAYEM: Gomantak Gausevak Mahasangh’s gaushala based at Sikeri-Mayem, is doing a marvellous job. From rescuing stray cattle generally causing nuisance on the road and rehabilitating the Indian breed of cows to planning the unique ‘gau-tourism’ initiative, the cow welfare-cum-cultural organisation has come a long way with over a thousand cattle being looked after at their five branches in Bicholim taluka; after having started out with two cows in 2015. The Gomantak Gausevak Mahasangh trust is supported by the Patanjali parivar and Goans in general, says the president of the Mahasangh, Kamlakant Tari.
