Poultry farming holds an important place in the Swayampurna Goa initiative of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. And with Goa having a huge scope for Poultry business as local produce meets only 5 per cent of the state’s requirement. Boosting the Poultry Farming prospects, the Chief Minister inaugurated the program ‘To Create New Entrepreneurs in Poultry Farming Sector’ under the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and All Goa Poultry Farmers & Traders Association at Ponda.
Dr Sawant also launched the website of All Goa Poultry Farmers & Traders Association. Director of Annimal Husbundary, Nitin Naik, Director FDA, Dr. Shweta Dessai, President of AGPFTA, Jaikrishna Naik and others were also present.
“I am happy to announce that the Government is ready to provide land to set up an advanced technology plant for chicken slaughter waste management. I am certain the facility will help in maintaining hygiene, minimizing waste, and reducing the environmental impact of poultry farming,” declared Dr Sawant.
“The Poultry Sector in Goa shall immensely contribute to the state’s economy while providing nutritious food for our people. Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa mission, we are committed to supporting and fostering new entrepreneurs in the poultry sector. I congratulate the All Goa Poultry Farmers Association for this initiative and urge them to encourage Goan youth to be entrepreneurs in this sector,” he added.
