TCP Minister, Vishwajit Rane has revealed that the provision of space for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) is under consideration in multi-family dwelling units. After chairing the board meeting of TCP today, Rane also announced the other decisions and welcomed industrialist Shrinivas Dempo, GCCI Chairman, and architect Milind Ramani on board.
“Considering the rising number of cases of sudden cardiac and other emergencies, we have decided to actively consider providing space in multifamily dwelling units for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Necessary instructions have been given to branch offices and PDAs to include this provision when granting permission for projects,” Rane mentioned on his social media handle.
“All the buildings and properties in housing societies over 20 years needing repairs and reconstruction will be given exemptions with increased FAR and height; uniform across the state as per the decisions taken by the board. This policy will benefit the people of Goa and improve their quality of life,” he further stated on X.
“We sought advice and suggestions from both Mr. Dempo and Mr. Ramani, and the government will be happy to take their inputs forward,” disclosed Rane.
“The Government, particularly the TCP department, is acutely aware of the concerns of unit holders and flat owners in aged cooperative societies and buildings, many of which are over two decades old. These buildings often seek redevelopment to safeguard the interests of their residents. To facilitate and protect these unit and flat owners, the Department has made a significant policy decision rooted in their welfare. This decision allows for redevelopment with certain exemptions within the bounds of the law, including increases in FAR and height.
This policy decision aligns with the desires of numerous cooperative societies, old flat owners, and unit holders. It will be uniformly applicable across the state, in accordance with board resolutions. Ultimately, this policy will benefit Goans who own aged flats and units in older buildings, which require and justify redevelopment,” posted Rane in another post on X.
