Teachers can guide the young students to identify the best-suited career path for them as they have more effect and impact on children, emphasised Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
The Chief Minister also categorically pointed out that colleges need to focus on getting the graduates placed in jobs rather than boasting 100 per cent results. He also urged the institutions to adopt the dual degree programme so that their placement chances are boosted.
Addressing the gathering during the teachers’ felicitation programme organised by BJP Teachers Cell, Dr Sawant asserted that teachers need to continually research and come up with apt career choices depending on the respective student’s skill aptitude to impact their minds, especially while a student is in 10th standard and faces a choice of further studies aligning with suitable professional future. He claimed that most parents are unaware of the career scope progressions and hence cannot be the ideal influencers for their children.
In all 29 teachers from the primary to college Principal level, were felicitated for their contribution to Goan education sector. The Chief Minister stressed that these awardees are neutrally selected without any interference.
Rajya Sabha MP & BJP State President, Sadanand Shet Tanavade; BJP Goa General Secretary Damu Naik, Goa Education Development Corporation Chairperson Govind Parvatkar, BJP Teachers Cell head Babaji Sawant were also present for the programme.
