Innovative technologies to clear the menace of metal and concrete dust, a medical diagnostic kit that aids management of urinary tract infections (UTI) and the use of drones to transform the pace of large infrastructure projects are just three of the 20 innovations scheduled to be showcased at the ‘Innovation Hub’ of the upcoming TEDxPanaji 2025, to be held in Panaji at Kala Academy on Saturday (September 20).
Supported by the Government of Goa and the Start-up Information Technology Promotion Cell (SITPC), TEDxPanaji 2025, apart from featuring a line-up of pathbreaking speakers, will also focus on celebrating the spirit of innovation by bringing bold future-ready ideas directly to the community under the aegis of the ‘Innovation Hub’, which will be open to the public from 10 am to 1 pm.
Ravi Kambhoj, organiser and curator of TEDxPanaji, explains: “The Innovation Hub is a TEDxPanaji platform celebrating and amplifying Goa’s spirit of innovation. It stands as a testament to what happens when ideas meet opportunity and we’re proud to help bring these stories to the world.”
The summit will also spotlight breakthrough innovations that reflect India’s growing entrepreneurial edge and showcase the spirit of Goa’s innovation ecosystem and that of TEDxPanaji. These include the ESKAPE Kit, a rapid UTI diagnostic designed to deliver targeted treatment guidance within six hours to fight antimicrobial resistance; No Dust, an integrated dust-capture system for power tools that eliminates debris at the source; and Argus Aviation, an autonomous drone platform using AI to safely accelerate critical infrastructure inspections.
TEDxPanaji received applications from innovators across India from sectors such as sustainability, AI, social networking, healthcare and robotics and the innovations went through rigorous screening and two high-energy pitching contests before being selected for the Innovation Hub.
“For the innovators, the Hub is a life-changing stage. It’s not just about showcasing their work but about validation from seasoned experts, visibility among policymakers and investors, and the spark of collaborations that could take their ideas national or even global. It’s their chance to prove that Goa and India can create world-class innovations with impact,” says Pawan Sharma, Director, Innovation Hub, TEDxPanaji 2025.
The Innovation Hub aims to shine a spotlight on local talent, demonstrate the potential of Goan innovators on a national stage and foster a culture of entrepreneurship and problem-solving among students and young professionals.
