Government High School, Dharbandora, beat Damodar High School, while VD&SV Wagle High School, Mangeshi, defeated Mahila & Nutan High School in the U-17 girls cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association, at Konkan Railway ground, Margao.
Government High School, Dharbandora, beat Damodar High School by 31 runs. Put into bat, Government High School scored 134/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Riya Gaonkar top-scored with a contribution of 35 runs (62 balls; 4×3). Saniksha Gaunkar scored 10 runs. In reply, Damodar HS were all out for 103 runs in 13.1 overs. Shweta Hubali scored 28 runs while Nasar Mulam contributed 14 runs. Government High School’s Sandipa Kharyar was the highest wicket-taker, picking up 4/27 while Alfa Kumari Mahali chipped in with 2/16.
In the other match, VD&SV Wagle High School thrashed Mahila & Nutan High School by 191 runs. Electing to bat, Wagle HS posted a mammoth 230/5 in 20 overs. Sonali Velingkar played a fine knock of 52 runs of 33 balls, that included seven boundaries. Unnati Satarkar scored 23 runs.
