The 10th Edition of Lex Infinitum, an international dispute resolution competition organised by V.M. Salgaocar College of Law (VMSCL) will be held from 16th to 18th January, 2025 at the college campus at Miramar, North Goa.
The competition is spearheaded by Dr. Shruti Kamat Dalal, faculty in-charge, Omkar S. Gaonkar and Tashina Zahra Pinto Do Rosario, Lex President and Vice-President respectively; under the leadership of Dr. Shaber Ali G., Principal of VMSCL.
Lex Infinitum is open to bonafide undergraduate students from institutions across the globe, and this year, it will host international teams from Singapore and Sri Lanka.
Mediation, a key method of alternative dispute resolution, involves resolving conflicts between the negotiating parties through a neutral mediator. This prestigious competition provides students with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their mediation and negotiation skills while being evaluated by internationally renowned mediators and experts.
The event will commence on 16th January with on-site registration and a training session, followed by the official inauguration graced by the chief guest. The competition rounds are scheduled as follows: 17th January: Preliminary and Quarterfinal Rounds 18th January: Semifinal and Final Rounds, followed by the Valedictory Function.
In addition, the college is hosting “Knowledge Sessions’, a two-day certificate course on negotiation and mediation, titled “Building Bridges: Mediation for Conflict Resolution”, alongside the competition. Scheduled to begin on 16th January, these sessions will be led by distinguished experts such as Dr. Deevanshu Shrivastava, Josephine Reyes, Claude Amar, Mr. E.O. Mendes, Ashwini Parab, Dr. Apoorva Dixit, Dr. Babugouda S. Patil, and Prachi Mehta.
The course is open to all individuals, regardless of their educational background or profession, making it accessible to students, professionals, or anyone with an interest in alternative dispute resolution.
