PANAJI: Goa’s Mark Jose Fernandes (17) and Ashwal Fernandes (14) of Xaxti Racing won gold medal and bronze medal respectively, at the BBCH Classic Road Race in Bangalore on Sunday, (July 17).
The 87.4km, Under-18 Road Race was conducted on the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway, with participants from across South India including Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Mark is a Std 12th student at GVM’s Higher Secondary School, Ponda, whereas Ashwal is a Std 9th student at Fr Agnel Multipurpose School, Verna.
“BBCH 2022 was a huge success for us at Xaxti Racing,” said Sameer Nadkarni, President of Xaxti Riders, as he hailed the effort of the young boys at the BBCH (Bangalore Bicycle Championship), which is India’s premier cycling platform since 2009.
BBCH’s annual events are the most- anticipated cycling races. The participating cyclists from across the country compete fiercely for top spots on the podium in all categories.
