Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant laid the foundation stone for the 10 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Menkurem, Bicholim on Monday. MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye was also present.
The Government of Goa’s hi-tech project will ensure clean, safe, and uninterrupted drinking water for over 11,800 residents across Sal, Menkurem – Dhumacem & Latambarcem.
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasised on the timely completion target for the project that’s in one year’s time, and revealed that a private company has been appointed to run operations and maintain it.
Among the highlights of Rs 59 crore turnkey project are five-storey Filter House with NABL-accredited lab, 2 Ground Level Reservoirs at Punarvasan & TGS-Sal, IoT-based SCADA system for real-time monitoring, 5 years of comprehensive Operation & Maintenance, Fully dust- and noise-minimized sustainable design.
