The 12th edition of the Rotary Rain Run Marathon (RRR), scheduled to be held on Sunday, 26th July 2026, at the Atal Stadium ( SAG Athletic Stadium), Bambolim, will feature an all-women pacers team for the second time in the RRR history.
Announcing this at a media conference held at the Crown Hotel in Panaji on Friday evening, Avinash Parmar, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said: “The Rotary Rain Run Marathon is Goa’s most diverse marathon. Every year, we witness participation from wheelchair athletes, homemakers, senior citizens, school children, professional runners, corporate professionals, and personnel from the Armed Forces and other services. Women runners have played an integral role in the growth of the event, and we felt this was an appropriate way to recognise and celebrate their contribution.”
Parmar further highlighted the growing association between the marathon and the Indian Army, which has supported the event over the years through logistics, coordination, and operational assistance. “We are grateful for the continued support of the Indian Army, whose professionalism and commitment have contributed significantly to the success of the Rotary Rain Run Marathon,” Parmar said.
As always, the RRR 2026 will feature categories of 21.1 KM Half Marathon, 10 KM Run, 5 KM Fun Run, and 2 KM Family Run, making it accessible to participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Shephan Shaikh, Co-Chairperson of RRR, said, “Rotary Rain Run Marathon is not merely a race; it is a movement for positive change. Through the funds raised, the event has supported significant Rotary initiatives in women’s health, education, and community development, positively impacting thousands of lives.”
Dr Amit Patil, President of the Rotary Club of Porvorim (RCP) and Nikhil Shah, Chairman of the Prakash Cancer Aid Project, one of the flagship social initiatives supported by RCP also spoke on the occasion.
