14 FILMS INCLUDED IN GOA SECTION AT IFFI 2024; GOA STATE FILM FESTIVAL SET FOR COMEBACK IN 2025

The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India 2024 will showcase 14 films in the ‘Goa section’, stated a press release by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).

The Goa section comprises of Premiere/Non-Premiere films produced by Goan film Directors & producers in Feature and Non Feature category.

ESG informed that it received a total of 25 entries in both the sections this year, out of which 14 films are selected by film industry personalities and Jury members – Kamal Swaroop, Chairman of Jury; Amar Nath Jha, Member of Jury; and  Sajiv Kurup, Member of Jury.

ESG has introduced a new segment titled “Goan Director’s Cut”, aimed at promoting Goan directors during IFFI this year. This dedicated platform provides an opportunity for Goan directors to showcase their work and celebrates their unique vision and creativity, further enriching the Goan Section at IFFI.

1)    Kharvan– Directed by Nitya Navelkar

2)    Hanging by a thread– Directed by Akshay Parvatkar

3)    Guntata Hriday He– Directed by Sainath Uskaikar

4)    Mai– Directed by Saujas Shetye

2)     Kalkhi Vaat– Directed by Shirish Rane

3)     Memoirs of the Mangifera– Directed by Himanshu Singh

GOA STATE FILM FESTIVAL IN MARCH 2025

Entertainment Society will be hosting 10th, 11th & 12th edition of Goa State Film Festival in March 2025. The festival will be biennial festival which will include feature & non-feature films produced in the state of Goa. The last edition i.e. 9th edition of the Goa State Film Festival was held in May 2018 for the films produced in the years 2016 & 2017. The 10th edition will have films produced from 1/1/2018 to 31/12/2019, 11th edition will have films produced from 1/1/2020 to 31/12/2021 and 12th edition will have films produced from 1/1/2022 to 31/12/2023, added the ESG press release.
