Goa Government’s ‘Gramin Mitra Yojana’ improving the quality of government services to citizens with better accessibility, transparency and lower costs. The Gramin Mitra Yojana aims to revolutionise government service delivery by providing doorstep access across the state, thereby promoting digital empowerment in rural areas. This initiative not only bridges the digital divide but also enriches socio-economic development in rural Goa.

The objective of the Gramin Mitra Scheme is to empower rural communities by providing them with access to essential information and opportunities. This Yojana offers a range of benefits and features designed to enhance digital empowerment in rural areas of Goa. Government services are now accessible directly at citizens’ doorsteps, supported by a dedicated call center operational from 8 AM to 8 PM. Services are available seven days a week, ensuring convenience and accessibility for all beneficiaries. This initiative not only bridges the digital divide between rural and urban areas but also positions Goa as a pioneer in the digital services sector, striving to become the first state in India to lead in technological innovation and efficiency. Moreover, the scheme aims to save time and money for rural citizens.

The CSC-Gramin Mitra initiative provides access to over 200+ essential services from state government departments, ranging from birth certificates to income certificates. Recently, the “Kala Samman Scheme” was launched to offer crucial financial assistance to distinguished artists in financial hardship, honoring their significant contributions to arts and culture. With an objective of offering financial support to artists in need, providing monthly assistance to help meet their daily expenses, and acknowledging their invaluable role in enriching the cultural fabric of society.

There are over 190 Gramin Mitras established across all panchayats and urban municipalities, benefitted over 1000 individuals. This initiative ensures that residents in remote or rural areas can conveniently access essential government services without the need to travel long distances.
